I missed two Wegovy doses in a row — now what?

The label says resume on your regular day — and talk to your prescriber, who may restart you at a lower dose. After two weeks off, drug levels have fallen enough that jumping back to a high dose commonly reignites the GI side effects titration existed to prevent.

Can I just move my injection day permanently?

Yes. Ozempic and Wegovy allow a new weekly day any time as long as doses stay at least 48 hours apart; Zepbound and Mounjaro require 72 hours. Travel tip: shift gradually rather than stretching one interval past the label window.

Does a missed dose restart my titration?

One missed dose, no. Extended gaps — several weeks — often should, especially at higher doses; the Wegovy label explicitly tells prescribers to consider re-escalating after multiple missed doses. That call belongs to your prescriber, not a calculator.

I vomited right after injecting — do I redose?

No. Injections absorb from tissue, not the stomach, so vomiting does not eject the dose — redosing would double it. (Rybelsus is the exception territory: absorption is oral, but the label still says never take a second tablet the same day.) Persistent vomiting is a call-your-prescriber symptom.

Do compounded versions follow the same rules?

Follow your prescriber’s instructions first — compounded products have no FDA label of their own. Absent specific instructions, the brand label for the same molecule (semaglutide or tirzepatide) is the reference standard prescribers use, and the windows above apply.

How this tool works

The decision rules are transcribed — not paraphrased — from the dosage-and-administration section of each drug’s current FDA label: Wegovy PI §2.2, Ozempic PI §2.1, Zepbound PI §2.2, Mounjaro PI §2.2 and Rybelsus PI §2.1. Your timing input just selects which branch of the label applies.

Wegovy’s rule reads differently from Ozempic’s but lands in nearly the same place: “take it if the next scheduled dose is more than 48 hours away” means a weekly injector has about 5 days to catch up. Zepbound and Mounjaro give 4 days (96 hours). Daily Rybelsus never catches up — the missed day is simply skipped.

Limits: labels are revised; we re-verify on each revision and date-stamp every rule. Two or more consecutive missed doses is a prescriber conversation — restarting at a lower dose may be safer than resuming, and that judgment is theirs, not a calculator’s.
