SkinnyRx Review: Cost & Is It Legit?

SkinnyRx review: compounded and brand-name GLP-1s from $199/mo, the pharmacy it uses, FDA warning letters and complaints. See if it's legit.

Last updated Aug 13, 2026
Quick answer

SkinnyRx is an online GLP-1 program that prescribes compounded medication only: compounded semaglutide, compounded tirzepatide, Wegovy. Plans start at $199 a month. We rate it 7.5/10 (Good). It does not name the pharmacy that fills its prescriptions. It ships to 48 states. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. SkinnyRx has an FDA warning letter on file, so we do not recommend it.

Good · 7.5Compounded only

SkinnyRx is an online weight-loss program that sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide as shots, tablets or drops, with the drug in one monthly price. It suits people who want a GLP-1 in pill form and a plan they can stop any month.

We rate it 7.5 out of 10, tier Good. The terms are clear and every plan is month to month, but the entry price sits above the group median.

The catch is the FDA record. SkinnyRx has an open FDA warning letter, dated February 20, 2026, and it names no pharmacy.

What is SkinnyRx?

SkinnyRx is a telehealth weight-loss program run by Lean Rx, Inc. It sells compounded GLP-1 drugs on a monthly subscription. The prescriber and the shipping are in the price.

Here is how it goes. You fill in a 5-minute online medical intake. "Once you complete the medical intake, a licensed clinician will review your information." Depending on your state, you may need a quick video visit first. If the clinician prescribes, a state-licensed pharmacy fills the order and ships it to you overnight for free. Each month you fill in a refill form to get the next supply.

The menu is compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide. Each comes as an injection or a tablet, and semaglutide also comes as a drop under the tongue. The site also lists the brand-name Wegovy pill and the Foundayo pill, through a separate membership with no price shown. SkinnyRx ships to 48 states. For what these drugs are, read our pages on semaglutide and tirzepatide.

Does SkinnyRx offer GLP‑1 pills?

Yes. SkinnyRx sells compounded semaglutide tablets for $249 a month and compounded tirzepatide tablets for $299 a month. It also sells compounded semaglutide as a drop under the tongue, with no price on a product page. The brand-name Wegovy pill and the Foundayo pill appear on the home page, but only through a membership with no stated price. The compounded tablets are not FDA approved. Brand-name tablets are a different product from the compounded ones.

The entry plan, compounded semaglutide injection, costs $199 a month all in: the drug, the clinician and the shipping. There is no consultation fee and no shipping fee.

The other plans cost more. Compounded semaglutide tablets are $249 a month. Compounded tirzepatide is $299 a month, as an injection or a tablet. The pages show one price per form, not a price per dose.

All plans bill monthly. SkinnyRx publishes no 6-month or 12-month prepay rates. It does not bill insurance, and the compounded plans carry no membership fee. The Wegovy and Foundayo pills sit behind a membership with no stated price.

What the price buys: the clinician review, the drug, unlimited messages with the care team and free overnight shipping. What it does not buy is a lower rate for staying longer.

Three months on the entry plan total $597. That puts SkinnyRx at rank 13 of the 18 compounded programs in its group on month-to-month prices, where the median is $179 a month.

For scale, a pharmacy pays $871.12 for a Wegovy 1.7 mg pen package, effective September 23, 2026. That is an acquisition cost, not what a patient pays.

SkinnyRx tirzepatide price

Compounded tirzepatide costs $299 a month at SkinnyRx, as an injection or as a tablet. The injection page also advertises "$99 first month with free overnight shipping". Treat $299 as the standing rate after that first month. Both forms bill month to month, with no prepay tier and no membership fee. Shipping is free. There is no lower rate for a longer plan. SkinnyRx states no price per dose, so ask before you pay whether a higher dose changes the price. For what tirzepatide is, see our tirzepatide page.

Is SkinnyRx legit?

Mostly. SkinnyRx is a real telehealth business, run by Lean Rx, Inc., with clear terms and a licensed clinician on every prescription. But it names no pharmacy, and it has an open FDA warning letter.

The prescribers are "independent licensed physicians". The site says its pharmacies are 503A pharmacies. That pharmacy type compounds a drug for one named patient on a prescription, and a state board oversees it. Without a pharmacy name, you cannot match any of them to the FDA register.

The site is plain about what is compounded. Its terms say "Compounded semaglutide is not approved or evaluated for safety, efficacy, or quality by the FDA." Each product page names the molecule and the form.

How does SkinnyRx work?

The care runs through a patient portal, with a video visit only where your state requires one. A licensed clinician reviews your intake and can write the prescription within 24 hours. The order ships within 2 business days.

After that, you have unlimited access to the care team and the providers through the portal. You can ask a clinician about progress, side effects or dose at no extra cost. Each month you fill in a refill form. A companion app for iOS and Android holds meal plans, medication reminders and weight tracking.

SkinnyRx does not state whether you can pick your provider, or whether it asks for labs. It also sells a separate Metabolic Health program, which you can use alone or with a GLP-1 plan.

Is SkinnyRx safe? FDA status and warning letters

SkinnyRx has an open FDA warning letter to Lean Rx, Inc. dba SkinnyRx, dated February 20, 2026. The subject is false and misleading claims, and misbranding, by a telehealth seller. The FDA reviewed the site in December 2025. It wrote that it "has observed that your website offers compounded drug products, including semaglutide and tirzepatide drug products."

The letter has no close-out. While it stays open, we do not link to SkinnyRx. No letter names a pharmacy, because SkinnyRx names none, and no other flag is open.

The compounded drugs themselves are not FDA approved, and the terms say so. For side effects, doses and who should not take these drugs, read our semaglutide and tirzepatide pages, which quote the FDA labels.

What the website claimed

The FDA says the company’s own marketing was misleading — a claim about safety, results or approval that its website could not support. This is about the advertising, not about the medicine a patient received.

“… website content at the internet address https://skinnyrx.com, in December 2025, and has observed that your website offers compounded drug products, including semaglutide and tirzepatide drug products.”

What does an FDA letter mean?

A warning letter asks a company to fix something. It is not a recall, it does not suspend a licence, and it is the FDA’s position rather than a court’s finding.

How to cancel SkinnyRx

Cancellation
Cancel anytime
Money-back guarantee
A "90-day money-back guarantee". Full refund if the provider decides you do not qualify, issued within 24-48 hours, and a full refund any time before the provider completes the prescription review. Once fulfillment begins the order is non-refundable; partially used subscription periods and bundled subscriptions are non-refundable.

You can cancel SkinnyRx at any time. The plans bill month to month, with no minimum term.

The refund rule depends on timing. "You may cancel your order and receive a full refund any time before a licensed provider completes your prescription review." If the provider decides you do not qualify, you get a full refund within 24 to 48 hours. SkinnyRx calls this a 90-day money-back guarantee.

Once your order goes to the pharmacy, it is not refundable, and a part-used month is not either. So the trap is the guarantee's name. It covers you before the drug ships, not after. To stop the next charge, cancel before your next monthly refill.

What customers say about SkinnyRx

SkinnyRx shows three short testimonials, on its Metabolic Health page. They are about habits: thinking less about food, and short walks that are easy to keep up. One reads like a note from a provider about a dose, not from a patient.

They say nothing about the GLP-1 plans, the price, the shipping or the support. The home page also cites a Trustpilot rating of 4.8 out of 5. These are the reviews SkinnyRx chose to publish; this site collects no independent reviews. Read the cost and cancel sections above for what you will pay and what you sign.
