How much is a GLP‑1 without insurance?
Without insurance, a brand-name GLP-1 costs about $149 to $499 a month at manufacturer self-pay prices as of October 2026, depending on the drug and dose.1345 Those prices are far below list prices; TrumpRx, the federal price site, shows list prices of $1,349 for Wegovy, $1,087 for Zepbound and $1,028 for Ozempic.7
Ozempic and Mounjaro are approved for type 2 diabetes, not weight management, so the weight-management brands are the usual comparison. Use our glp1.health cost calculator to turn a dose schedule into a yearly figure.
How much does Wegovy cost without insurance?
As of October 2026, the Wegovy pen costs $349 a month for every dose from 0.25 mg to 2.4 mg, and $399 a month for Wegovy HD 7.2 mg.4 New patients pay $199 a month for their first two fills of the 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg doses, an offer Novo Nordisk runs through December 31, 2026.4 That $349 figure is the current "Wegovy cash price" at NovoCare Pharmacy; more detail and live tracking are on our Wegovy cost page.
How much is the Wegovy pill?
The Wegovy pill costs $149 a month at 1.5 mg, $199 a month at 4 mg and $299 a month at 9 mg and 25 mg, according to NovoCare's self-pay prices as of October 2026.4 TrumpRx lists the pill at $149 a month, which is the starting-dose price.7
Costco Wegovy and GoodRx Wegovy coupons
Costco and GoodRx are retail channels for Novo Nordisk's self-pay pricing, not separate discounts on top of it. Bloomberg reported in November 2025 that the $349 Wegovy price and the $199 introductory offer were available through NovoCare, Costco and GoodRx.8 For the pill, Drug Topics reported in January 2026 that GoodRx-affiliated pharmacies list $149 for 1.5 mg, then $199 for 4 mg and $299 for 9 mg and 25 mg after April 15, 2026, the same ladder NovoCare publishes.94 Prices at a given Costco or GoodRx pharmacy can change, so compare the checkout price with NovoCare's before you pay.
How much does Zepbound cost without insurance?
Zepbound costs $299 a month at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg and $449 at 7.5 mg to 15 mg as of October 2026, for the KwikPen or vials at Lilly's self-pay price.1 The $449 price on higher doses holds only if you refill within 45 days of your last delivery; otherwise Lilly's regular price is $499 for 7.5 mg and $699 for 10 mg to 15 mg.1 Single-dose vials are sold only through LillyDirect Pharmacy.2 The single-dose autoinjector pen has no self-pay price below $499.1 Full terms are in our Zepbound savings card guide.

Mounjaro is harder to price without insurance. Lilly's Mounjaro card offers $499 a month to people whose commercial insurance does not cover it, but that offer requires commercial insurance.6 We could not verify a published Lilly self-pay price for Mounjaro for people with no insurance, so check the Mounjaro cost page for current options.
How much is compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?
Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are sold by telehealth programs at their own prices, which vary by program, dose and plan length and change often, so we do not quote a single figure here. What does not vary is their regulatory status: the FDA states that compounded drugs are not FDA approved and are not reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed.10 The FDA had received 990 adverse event reports for compounded semaglutide and more than 730 for compounded tirzepatide as of May 31, 2026.10
The FDA declared the tirzepatide shortage resolved on December 19, 2024 and the semaglutide shortage resolved on February 21, 2025, which ended the shortage basis on which much mass compounding had relied.11 For live, verified program prices, see our cheapest compounded tirzepatide ranking, our glp1.health price index, and the rankings for compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide programs.
What is the most affordable GLP‑1 without insurance?
On manufacturer prices alone, the most affordable weight-loss GLP-1 without insurance as of October 2026 is a tablet at a low dose: the Wegovy pill at 1.5 mg or Foundayo at 0.8 mg or 2.5 mg, each $149 a month.34 At maintenance doses, the Wegovy pill and Foundayo are $299 a month, the Wegovy pen $349 and Zepbound $449.134
Price is only one factor. The drugs differ in how they are taken, how much weight people lost in trials and what side effects they cause, and the right choice is a clinical decision. Our Wegovy vs Zepbound comparison sets the two injectables side by side, and our brand-name ranking compares programs that prescribe FDA-approved drugs.
Before paying cash, check two cheaper routes. If you have commercial insurance that covers the drug, manufacturer cards can cut a fill to as little as $25; see does insurance cover Zepbound. If you have Medicare Part D, the GLP-1 Bridge may cover Wegovy, Foundayo or the Zepbound KwikPen for $50 a month; see Medicare GLP-1 coverage.
